I went to Shogran in September 2012. The road from Islamabad till Shogran was good. We stayed in Mansehra for a night and started our journey early morning next day. After crossing Balakot, we had breakfast in Kiwai. Kiwai is a famous stop over for visitors who like to have refreshments specially tea. All the excitement was in having tea while sitting in fresh flowing water. Water was so cold that one can hardly put feet in it. Weather was pleasant with warm sunshine and cool breeze. Weather usually changes in minutes so we wore warm clothes and kept extra shawls and sweaters also. It is hot in sunshine but when it is cloudy, temperature drops and it is freezing cold. Shogran has lush green beauty. You can see greenery everywhere. Specially Pine Park Hotel & Resorts is maintaining a very nice garden with many kinds of flowers and trees. They have a small tuck shop from where you can get everything you can imagine from hand gloves, caps, umbrella to jewellery and traditional bags.
These are amazing photographs! I'm sure you guys had loads of fun. I'll wait for more travel posts & pics. :)

ReplyDeleteI want to extend my heartiest congratulation on scheduling to arrange such a wonderful and pleasant trip to Northern Area.
First time I visited Kaghan Naran in 2006, and after that I had so many on and off trips till to date. I am still fail to define beauty and attraction of this marvelous place in my words. But will only comments that anyone who has been there once, he/she can never forget the charming scenes and landscapes. Once I was there I was never felling like to come back.
Thank you Tayyaba. It is a pleasure that you read my posts regularly. Its true that once you go to Kaghan Naran, you never feel like coming back. Our country is really beautiful.
DeleteI came to know that you people did boating in lake saiful Maluk. In this connection I Want to share something with you:
ReplyDelete"MANSEHRA, May 31 2012: The district administration has imposed ban on boating in Lake Saiful Muluk and setting up camps and parking vehicles within 200 metres radius of the lake to save it from pollution". (Dawn News Paper)
Lake Saif ul Maluk is so deep that so far its depth could not be measured.
ReplyDeleteThe depth of this heighest lake is still unknown. :) aur karo boating :P
True :) We did have a fear knowing this depth thing but it was like once in a lifetime chance so hum dua ker k beth he gaye :)Boating was fun.
DeleteNote: Do not take children for boating or people who have water phobia.
Well Red, I think people who have water phobia won't be visiting a lake so we shouldn't worry about that. :)
